- 44 percent of fire departments are more than 40 years old;
- 56 percent of all US fire stations do not have exhaust emission control systems;
- 31 percent of all US fire stations do not have access to backup power;
- The total national cost of station renovation needs is estimated at $143.1 billion.
We must ensure that the facilities where our fire and EMS personnel sleep, eat, and work are safe and code-compliant.
