CFSI and Masimo to Honor the Joliet Fire Department for Excellence in Emergency Medical Services
The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and Masimo will honor the Joliet (IL) Fire Department with the 2025 Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Award for its innovations in emergency medical services. The award will be presented at the 35th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on February 13th in Washington, DC.
National Firefighter Registry Reauthorization Passes Senate, Headed to President’s Desk to Become Law
On December 4, the fire and emergency services won a huge legislative victory with the Senate’s passage of the Firefighter Cancer Registry Reauthorization Act (H.R.3821). The bill, which had previously passed the House by a huge bipartisan vote of 413-7 on March 6, 2024, passed the Senate by voice vote. It will now be sent to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
