(March 7, 2016) – The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) has just released the seminar schedule for the 2016 National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium, held in conjunction with the 28th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner, on May 4-5, 2016 in Washington, DC.  CFSI will once again be partnering with Columbia Southern University to allow registered attendees to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in continuing education programs. Participants who successfully complete Columbia Southern University’s approved programs, such as the CFSI seminars, will be awarded CEUs. All seminars conducted on May 4th will be eligible for 0.1 CEUs from Columbia Southern University.  Additionally, CFSI will conduct additional seminars covering important fire service issues on May 5th, however they will not be eligible for CEUs.

Prior to each seminar on May 4th, attendees will be asked to sign-in as proof of attendance. At the conclusion of the Symposium, Columbia Southern University will contact each attendee with further instructions on how to obtain their CEU certificates.

The 2016 National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium/28th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner takes place on May 4-5, 2016 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.  Fire and emergency services leaders from across the country will attend this important program as they engage in discussions with federal leaders on a broad range of issues impacting our nation’s first responders.  Hosted by the Congressional Fire Services Institute, the Symposium and Dinner program is a unique experience for fire service officials. Their presence on Capitol Hill during this two-day program will capture the attention of Congress, reminding them of the federal government’s role in addressing the needs of our firefighters and emergency services personnel.
