The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) is accepting nominations for its 2026 national awards program. These awards honor both individuals and organizations for outstanding leadership in advancing firefighter health and safety, public safety, and the delivery of emergency medical services. The presentations will take place on March 19, 2026 at the 36th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, DC, before 1,500 state and national fire service officials.
Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award
Co-sponsored by CFSI and Motorola Solutions, the Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award recognizes public safety leaders who have distinguished themselves for their proactive efforts at the national level to improve the readiness and response capabilities of the fire and emergency services and address public safety awareness and education.
Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award
Co-sponsored by CFSI, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, VFIS and UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute, the Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award is presented to organizations for implementing innovative programs to advance firefighter health and safety.
Dr. Anne W. Phillips Award for Leadership in Fire Safety Education
Co-sponsored by CFSI and the International Fire Service Training Association, the Dr. Anne W. Phillips Award for Leadership in Fire Safety Education honors individuals for achievements at the national level in fire safety education.
Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards Program
Co-sponsored by CFSI and Masimo, the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Award recognizes fire departments for innovations and enhancements in the delivery of emergency medical services.
