Tiffany D. Green’s fire and emergency services career spans over 29 years, all of which was served in Prince George’s County. She was the Department’s thirteenth Fire Chief, the first paramedic Fire Chief, and the first female Fire Chief. Chief Green started her tenure in the fire and emergency services as a volunteer firefighter for the Oxon Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Throughout her career, she has held every rank in the Department.
Chief Green holds a Bachelor’s degree in public safety and a Master’s degree in emergency and Disaster Management. She is recognized as a Chief Fire Officer by the Commission on Professional Credentialing. Chief Green has participated in numerous committees and boards to advance the fire service, including sitting as the Vice Chair of the Center for Public Safety Excellence Commission on Professional Credentialing, the Commission Chair of the Maryland Association of Counties Commission to Advance Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services, the Vice Chair of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Fire Chiefs Committee. Chief Green is a member of Leadership Greater Washington, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Metro Fire Chiefs, the International Association of Black Professional Fire Fighters, the Black Chief Officers Committee, and Women in Fire.
After her retirement from the Department in June of 2025, she was appointed to the position of Assistant Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Public Safety and Homeland Security for Prince George’s County.
