đGovernment Shutdown Watch. With certain government funding scheduled to expire on January 30, Congress will need to act this month to fund the government. So far, three of the 12 appropriations bills for fiscal year (FY) 2026 have become law, but nine bills remain subject to a continuing resolution that expires at the end of the month. A compromise bill to fund three of the nine remaining bills appears to be moving forward, but the path for the other six billsâincluding a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Securityâis uncertain.
