A memo from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)Ā laid outĀ aĀ plan to cut a variety of grant programsĀ including the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) program. CFSI has heard that AFG and SAFER are currently not included in the proposed cuts.

šŸ“ŒDemocratic AGs Sue Over BRIC Grant Cancellation.Ā Earlier this year, the Trump Administration summarilyĀ eliminatedĀ theĀ Building Resilient Infrastructure and CommunitiesĀ (BRIC) program, which was signed into law during the first Trump Administration and had been providing critical disaster mitigation funding to states. Earlier this month, 20 Democratic AGsĀ filedĀ aĀ lawsuit, contending that ending the program isĀ against the law.
