📌One Billion Dollars in Cuts to FEMA Grants Proposed. A memo from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) laid out a plan to cut a variety of grant programs including the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) program. CFSI has heard that AFG and SAFER are currently not included in the proposed cuts.

📌Democratic AGs Sue Over BRIC Grant Cancellation. Earlier this year, the Trump Administration summarily eliminated the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program, which was signed into law during the first Trump Administration and had been providing critical disaster mitigation funding to states. Earlier this month, 20 Democratic AGs filed a lawsuit, contending that ending the program is against the law.

Here’s how you can take action today:

✅ Visit CFSI’s Legislative Action Center for information reaching out to Congress.

✅ If your members of Congress are not on the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, ask them to join!
