Michaela Campbell serves as the Executive Director of the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI), where she leads the organization’s mission to advance federal policies and funding in support of the nation’s fire and emergency services. In this role, she oversees CFSI’s strategic direction, federal advocacy efforts, and engagement with members of Congress, national fire service organizations, and the Congressional Fire Services Caucus to strengthen support for first responders across the country.
Prior to becoming Executive Director, Michaela served as CFSI’s Director of Government Affairs, where she led the organization’s federal advocacy portfolio and built strong relationships on Capitol Hill to promote fire service priorities. Before joining CFSI, she worked at the law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP as a Legislative Assistant, advising clients on legislative and regulatory strategies involving trade, tax, energy, labor, and environmental issues. Earlier in her career, she worked in the U.S. Senate in the office of Senator Susan Collins, where she helped to support firefighter programs at the federal level.
Michaela received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brown University. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to public service and effective advocacy, bringing strong leadership and legislative expertise to advance CFSI’s mission and elevate the voice of the fire service on Capitol Hill.
