John Drummond

Director of Government Affairs

John Drummond serves as the Director of Government Affairs at CFSI, where he leads the organization’s engagement with policymakers and advances national and federal priorities aligned with its mission. In this role, he leverages his background in public policy, law, and government relations to effectively represent CFSI and work on behalf of the fire and emergency services.

Prior to joining CFSI, John served as the Government Affairs Intern with the International Association of Fire Chiefs. In this role, he analyzed legislation and agency rules to determine impacts on first responders, engaged in coalition meetings with other fire service groups, and presented research and analysis to important stakeholders. Earlier in his career, John served as a Legislative Fellow in the Delaware General Assembly where he gained legislative, political, and policy experience. John has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Post University, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Delaware, and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
